Is It My Place To Tell Her?

Anonymous says..

I am in need of advice. My best friend has recently become engaged. She only dated her boyfriend for two weeks after first meeting him. She accepted when he proposed. It was then that I met him for the first time when they came to visit my home. But I was not impressed.

There was something about him that I didn't trust. Maybe it was his eyes. But it turns out that my friend's brother does not like his sister's fiance at all.

My friend's fiance has been defined as a liar, manipulative, dishonest, and using my friend. There are stories where he would say one thing and turns out it was another. He's lied about so much. He's disrespectful to church members and my friend. He's way too rough with my friend, though he says he is playing. It's been said that he's told others before he met my friend that he "needed to get me a wife". Almost everyone thinks he is using her. Some are saying they don't even think he is a Christian but is using that to get what he wants.

My friend knows all this. She knows that he lies, is rough with her, disrespectful, etc. This is the first man she has dated and a lot of people are afraid she is "falling for the first guy".

He has no job (can't ever keep one), no education (doesn't want to get one), and never seems to take anything seriously. I'm so afraid she'll spend the rest of her life supporting him while he uses her. I don't want this to happen to my best friend!!!

I want her to break off the engagement but I have yet to tell her how I feel. What should I say? Should I even tell her? Is it my place? I'm scared for her...scared she'll marry him to "prove to everyone" that they can make it work and be miserable for the rest of her life. (She doesn't believe in divorce...only under certain circumstances.) What should I do??

“The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.” Proverbs 12:26

My Dear Sister yes you most certainly should tell your friend. It is most definitely your place to tell her. Your love for her causes you to want to protect and keep her from harm. When we see that our friends are in trouble or headed down the wrong path we are to warn them. When we see our friends are under attack we must sound the alarm before they fall into the trap of the enemy. That is our duty. The enemy and the world want to get us to ‘mind our own business’ but our brothers and sisters in the Lord are our business and lost souls are our business.

I think you should take a day of fasting, prayer, and reading His Word. Just draw close to Him and seek His face about this situation. Intercede on her behalf. Take this time and ask the Lord to search your heart and to give you His Words to speak to her in love. Ask Him to prepare your heart to have the right attitude. Ask Him to prepare her heart to receive what you are saying and to not be completely closed to it. The Lord will give you the prayer direction, you’ll see. He will also give you the words to speak to her when the time comes. Pray that He would use you to give her confirmation of things that He has already been laying on her heart. Remember that you both have the same Holy Spirit and He has been talking to her too about this relationship and His concerns regarding it. May the Lord give her eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.

She may or may not receive what you have to say. Sometimes when people are in error or sin they do not want to hear what those closest to them have to say. If that is the case then you will just have to step back and allow her to make her choices. Keep praying and interceding on her behalf. You have to trust the Lord when He says that He works EVERYTHING out for our good. (Romans 8:28) If she is a believer, then she is His child. Believe me when I tell you that she is in Good hands. Trust your friend to our Lord He will not ever leave her or forsake her.

I know this hurts you but cast all of your cares on Him because He cares for you. Don’t be anxious about this situation instead do as I have said above and present your requests to God and make your supplications on behalf of your friend to our Lord. I promise that if you will trust the Lord and meditate on His Word about this situation the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will protect your mind and heart as you trust Him to care for your dear friend. (Philippians 4:6-7)

“ A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.” Proverbs 17: 17

It seems to be that you are truly a loyal friend to this girl and a sister in time of need. She is blessed to have you.

I love you sister.. and we will be praying for you and your friend.

P.S.

Here’s an article that I think may help you.

He's Say's He's Not Sure About Our Relationship Anymore

Anonymous says..

I have been dating the loveliest Christian guy for the past 6 months. We are both in our 20's and have always agreed that dating is a prequel to marriage.
Last week he told me that he was no longer sure he was ready to be the man I need. I know we love each other and I've told him to take his time in praying about where our relationship should go (if anywhere). Since then he's not really done much except to try and avoid thinking about it. I understand that it pains him and he's hurting and although I'm hurt I'd like to give him the time he needs. God is using this to highlight old scars from a previous relationship with someone that really didn't love me and consequently messed me around. In dealing with that I find myself reacting not to my boyfriend but to the last man who hurt me and I have to constantly remind myself not to transfer my hurt, anger and insecurities.
I'm still waiting on an answer from my boyfriend, but he seems to be taking his time. He talks to me often and tells me he loves me but hanging in there is so hard. I've given up praying for direction because I can't see through the hurting and yet he expects some sort of answer from me as to whether I want to stay with him. I really don't know what to do?

Trophy of Grace replies..

My Dear Sister,

I feel your pain, hurt, and confusion in both of your messages. I am sorry that you are going through this. I pray that the Lord would give me the words to speak to you that will bring you comfort.

Immediately I feel the need to tell you do not stop praying. In fact I want to tell you pray without ceasing. Not just about this relationship but everything and anything that concerns or troubles your heart. You must not allow the enemy of our soul to convince you that our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus does not care about your prayers. Our Lord has said, “Then when you call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:12-13)

He doesn’t want you to be anxious about anything, including this relationship. He wants you to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to Him; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. So you see if you stop praying and seeking the Lord about all of this and any other problem in your life you will not receive His peace about your situation. You need that peace to protect your mind and heart while you wait for the resolution or answer. So don’t stop praying my sweet sister. (I Thessalonians 5:17-18, Philippians 4:6-7)

Now about your relationship…I know you love this young man and he says that he loves you too, but he is not sure about whether or not he can be the man that you need and that God wants him to be for you. He’s not sure about the relationship any more and he wants to know now what you want. I think you should be honest with him and tell him that you want to be in a relationship with someone who is SURE about their commitment to you and your relationship with one another. You don’t want to feel insecure in your relationship and I am sure that you don’t want that for him either.

I believe you need to allow him the time he needs to pray about this and seek God’s face about His will for this relationship. You should do the same for yourself. Ask the Lord to help you accept His will if this relationship is not for you and to help you heal from the hurt. He can help break those emotional ties and bonds that you have made with this young man. If you are meant to be together then the Lord will make that evident to you both.

You said that you feel the Lord is revealing that you still have past hurt and insecurities. I believe He wants to heal you from all of this. Give dating a break for awhile and make the Lord your first true love. Allow Him to be everything you need. Get involved in your church. Serve in ministry. Go to women bible studies and fellowship with other women. Allow your roots to grow down deep in the Word and the love of Christ so that you can be secure in Him knowing that He is directing your steps. Therefore if He chooses to remove certain people from your life or closes certain doors then you will be ok with it because you are rooted in Him. He is your security and hope. Then you will not fall apart. You will accept that some relationships are only for a season.

The Lord knows the desires of your heart and wants to give them to you. He knows that you want a man to love you and be the godly husband you desire, but sometimes we go looking for this before God’s time and end up hurt and broken. Seek first God’s will and His way of doing things and you will that all of these things will be added to you.

Enclosing I want to leave you with two scriptures.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

And

Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Be encouraged my sister. The Lord is on your side. He has a wonderful plan for your life and although you may be hurting now he will renew your joy and peace as you trust Him with every aspect of your life. He will work this all out for your good. Draw close to Him and allow both you and this young man the time you both need to pray and decide if this relationship is God’s will or your own will. Stop meditating on the relationship and start meditating on God’s Word.

We will be praying for you..blessings..

P.S.

I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your heart as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3: 16-19)

Also..listen to the this song. It encourages me.. I hope it encourages you too. It’s “Shadowfeet” by Brooke Fraser.

He's Having A Hard Time Sticking With One Girl

Anonymous' Prayer Request...
Please pray for my "friend" Steven. He's having a hard time sticking with one girl and I know I still love him, even his sister says she can't see him happier or becoming a better Christian with anyone else but me. So please pray that he will learn what he's doing to these girls. If I can't have him, I at least want the girl that gets him to be happy and not have to worry about another woman in his life. I want him happy no matter what

Trophy of Grace prays...
My Dear Father,

You see this young man and is heart towards women. Help him to see the error in his ways. Teach him Lord the importance of fearing you. Change his heart Lord. Allow him to see that your kindness is meant to lead him to repentance. I know that it is not your will Lord that any should perish. If he has not believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior then please Holy Spirit touch his heart. Allow him to see that He needs You. Allow him to realize that his is a sinner. I pray that tonight as he lays in bed that his heart would be touched and he would cry out to You for forgiveness. I trust your Lord and I know that you are doing something in His heart right now and his heart will not be hardened to the Holy Spirit. He will receive your Word and He will be changed for ever.

For this dear sister I pray that you would help her too Lord. You see that she still loves this young man and it hurts her to see what he is doing. Help her to heal from this whole relationship and if it be your will for her to get away from this situation completely then give her the strength to move on. Help her to get her focus completely on You. Help her to leave this young man in your hands. This is not a burden for her to carry but instead to pray and cast this care on you because you care about him and her. Give her a desire to want to serve you and to become your handmaiden. In Jesus name..Amen..

Trophy of Grace said...
Lord,

You see our friend’s request. I ask Lord that you would touch this young man’s heart. He has had a lot of trouble and needs your comfort. I know that often times you allow us to go through things because you have a divine plan. Many times when we are going through our tough times we don’t understand what You are doing. Sometimes we wonder if You even see..but You do see us. You are always watching over us. My prayer is that you would continue to watch over him. Bring him into Your loving family. Save his soul and don’t allow the enemy to destroy him. Send your servants out to him to minister to him about the love of Christ. Soften his heart and prepare his heart to receive your Word. Change his life and give him a desire for change. Heal his heart of his hearts and lift him up Lord. Have mercy on him and his family. Help to forgive and to receive forgiveness..

And for my dear sister here. Thank you for her request. Give her a hunger for you Lord. For your Word. As this young man spends time away from her allow this time for Your relationship with her to grow. Help her to focus all of her heart on You and Your Word. Mold her and renew her. Create in her a clean heart. Give her a heart that longs for you Lord. I pray a hedge of protection around her and her family. In Jesus name I pray..Amen..Thank you Lord!!

He Has to Choose to Open the Door

Anonymous said...
hi i know i put my name as anonymous but i changed my mind my names Dyiesha and i have a major problem i have been praying for my ex boyfriends salvation god put it on my heart to pray to him that by the end of january that he would call my ex into a personal devoted relationship with God for this whole month i have been fasting and praying for him and other family members i now things are surpose to go bad before they get good i just dont knoW please get back to me on this as soon as you read this please i need advice

When ever the Lord gives you direction you have to trust Him. If He put it on your heart to pray and fast for your ex-boyfriend well then be obedient. However you must remember that receiving salvation is a choice that each of us has to make individually. We can pray and intercede for someone, but they have to choose to repent and confess their sins and believe on Christ Jesus to save them on their own. We can’t make anyone be saved.

Jesus said, “Look! I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eat with me.” Revelations 3:20

Jesus is knocking on the door of your ex’s heart, but he has to decide if he wants to open. Allow the Lord to do a work in his life. You continue to pray and trust in the Lord. Leave it in God’s hands. Don’t worry the Lord has a way of getting our attention and He has heard your prayers. Just keep believing for this young man’s salvation.

A Prayer For A Friend

MySpace Friend's Comment on 7th Grade Boy Problems & Pregnant at 12:

Yes her parents did allow this because of the fact that her parents got married when they were young!

Most of the guys and girls at my school are exposed to a lot of drug uses @ there own house.

Well this is the last week of school until winter break and we haven't been to school AT all this week but we went a half a day on Monday and haven't been since and doubt if we will have school this week at all but to get to the point these guys across from my lunch table but we have booths they had brought marker(s) to lunch and were getting high off this. It was kind of depressing because some of the guys are my friends and it was sad.

I actually used to like one of these guys but I don't want a boyfriend that isn't a Christian and does drugs it's just to much for the average teen-age girl to handle except the fact that I'm not average I'm not normal I'm peculiar I'm a Christian and I can't do some of the things that most teenagers can.

The only dances I'll be able to go to are Prom either my Junior and senior *if someone asks me that is* but as women in Christ help me pray for the schools systems of the United States. ~Thank you

Trophy of Grace’s prayer for our friend:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come before you in Jesus' name. You see my young sister's heart here. I ask that you give her strength and courage to be a light in the darkness. You have allowed her to go to the school that she is attending right now for such as time as this. I know you want to use her right where she is at to encourage other children and to be an example to others. She is different than the other children. She is not only your creation but she is your child. Help Lord... Comfort her with your Word. Give her a desire to draw closer to you and to read your Word daily. We know that your Word will be a light to her feet. Give her the Words to speak to her friends and associates. Let it be Words of Love and inspiration. I know that you have a mighty plan for her life..give her a vision and dream that she can hold on to. Remind her always that you are with her every day no matter what happens. Increase her faith and confidence in You.

In Jesus' name... Amen

Getting Accepted Into the New University

Myspace Friend writes..
Hello,I was wondering could you all give me some advice or guidance. I am a college student and sometimes all the work can get overwhelming. It's like I have a big burdon on my shoulders. I have applied to another university to be closer to my family and spend less money on transportation. The university that I applied to is hard to get in. Could you all tell me scriptures to read to keep me motivated during school and confidence of getting accepted into the new university. I want to be accepted into the school so bad but sometimes I have my doubts, but I always say if I pray about it I shouldnt be worried about just leave it in his hands.

Reply...
You have already prayed about it now you have to trust God. He is in control and He will work everything out for your good. If it is meant for you to be at that new school you will be there. He will make it possible. However if it is not His will then He will close that door.

Either way you just need to trust Him no matter what. Don't be anxious or worried about this. It will only rob you of your peace and joy. You can have peace while you wait for the response. You can have peace because you know that God is for you no matter what.

Here are some scriptures that come to mind.

Philippians 4:6-7 (Amplified Bible)

6Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ([a]definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. 7And God's peace [shall be yours, that [b]tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall [c]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7 (New Living Translation)

7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]"

I used to worry and have anxiety about everything. I have been freed from that because I know that:

Ø When I cry he answers me. (Ps. 34:4,6)
Ø He frees me from all my fears. (Ps. 34:4)
Ø Our Lord guards and rescues all who reverence Him (Ps:7)
Ø If I reverence Him I will have everything I need and never lack any good thing. (Ps: 9)
Ø His mercies shower down on me because I trust in Him. (Ps:8)
Ø The Lord hears me when I call to him for help, and saves me out of all my troubles.” (Ps. 34:17)

Be encouraged God is with you and sees your turmoil. He is sad that you are in this state and wants you to let go of this burden and let Him carry all of your burdens.I will be praying for you sister..

God Bless you,

Trophy of Grace

I Want Her To Be Saved & Not Left Behind

Jesus Girl says... Hey girls! How are u? Anyway I have to ask u something. I have this friend, she is not a Christian and she drinks and smokes and I have been trying to invite her to church and activites from my youth group but everytime I ask her she never wants to come. She always hangs out with her other friends but not me. I am praying for her and her salvation and I know I can't change people only Jesus can but I do want her to know Jesus Christ. Anyways what do I do to show her who Jesus Christ is because I want to bring her to Christ and I want her to be saved and not left behind when Jesus comes back. Please tell me what to do. Thanks girls..GOD BLESS U!

Response... You are definitely doing the right thing. Don’t give up on her.

Galatians 6:9 “ So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Continue to love on her and let her know that you are there for her. Be patient and loving. You may have to give her space and let God draw her to you, if that be His will. Never stop praying and intercede for her.

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16

Don’t worry about her not listening to you or not wanting to hang with you. If she refuses to listen when you talk to her about the Lord, she will be won by your respectful, pure behavior. Your godly life will speak to her better than any words. (1 Peter 3:1)

Keep up the good work and be encouraged your friend will be saved. I believe it! I will come into agreement with you now.

Heavenly Father,

We come before you in Jesus name. You see my sister’s heart for this young friend of hers. She desires to see her saved before the rapture of the church. Your Word says that you give us the desires of heart and it also says that it is not your will that any should perish. We do not want this young girl to perish in her sin and disobedience. Please draw her close to you. Lead her to the cross and to your Son Jesus Christ. We believe that what ask you will give us because we asked in your Son’s name and because you love this girl just like you love us. We look forward to the day when we hear that she has surrendered her life to you. We thank you in advance and give you all the glory.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.

Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord our Healer

Written by: Saved By Faith

My daughter has had 6 surgeries on her right ear in 4 years. Within the past year alone, she’s had 3 of them… in Aug, Nov & May. She’s been through a lot physically and yet she hasn’t lost faith. She continues to believe that God will heal her of her ear problems and she will live a joyous, healthy life. During these times, I’ve asked friends and family to pray for her, played a healing CD for her, and asked my church to pray for her as well. Her last surgery was a success!! For the first time ever, Veronica has normal hearing!! Thank you Jesus!!!

… 5 months later we encounter a problem… she has a bad infection in her left ear… in her “good” ear. So far she’s been every week to the doctors, 3 weeks in a row, ear drops and a change of antibiotics. I pray that this doesn’t turn into the trouble she had with her right ear. Although she is brave and full of faith and reassurance, it is very difficult to grasp the fact that she has fallen ill again. And so we continue to pray. And so this article is written.

We know our God to be merciful and compassionate. We’ve read countless stories of His healings and miracles. We know that God is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord our Healer. So the big question that has been asked is, knowing that He heals, why are some still plagued with illness?

The first thing we have to acknowledge is that God can and does heal. “for I am the LORD, who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). God’s will is to heal our physical body. He doesn’t want us to suffer with sickness and disease. One thing He asks of us is faith… faith in Him; Jehovah-Rapha. We might try to understand why but we must always remember that His ways are higher than ours. And in understanding this, we accept that God has full authority over all sickness and can choose to heal whenever and whomever He chooses. We must also understand that sometimes God allows us to have sickness so that will we look to Him for His strength and power. The sickness can teach us a valuable lesson about our faith.

"To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

Let’s read that again… "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Do you hear how divine that is?! Our Lord is His strongest in our weakest moments. He does not leave us to wallow in our pain. He does not leave us to cower in our affliction. Instead, the Lord says that His grace is sufficient and far more than we can ever hope or imagine. He will free us of our ailments if we fully surrender ourselves to Him.

"It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees." (Psalm 119:71)

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us - they help us learn to endure." (Romans 5:3)

Why are some still plagued with illness? I know for my daughter it is because God uses these medical problems to strengthen her. It has drawn us closer not only to one another but also to God. We have experienced and learned so much in this time and one thing is for certain… we will only receive God’s mercy if we surrender to Him. We pray a little longer. Pray a little louder. Pray more often. We continuously thank God for all He’s given us and for being with us at all times, regardless of circumstance. We thank Him for bringing us through this storm, directing us to safety; steering my precious daughter to a healthier life.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
How beautiful these words are. How dear we hold them.

Pt2 cont. from Baby Daddy Drama

(Continued from Baby Daddy Drama)

MySpacer Responds..

My ex is always saying he's going to hell and there's no god. He wants to go there anyhow. If he doesn't want to embrace God or go to heaven he won't...will he? I've prayed for change in his life. I've prayed that God enters his soul and lets him see light. So far, I haven't seen anything different in him. I do hope he changes, but not for me...I want him to change for himself. How do I let go of all of this anger and resentment? I want to, but it's very hard for me. So lets say I do forgive him, and I personally tell him I want him to be happy and live a great fulfilling life. Does that mean I need to see him, or let him see the baby and I? I mean he hasn't done anything for either of us, and I don't want him to see our son...he doesn't even try. I guess what i'm trying to get at is can i forgive him and move on without letting him see the baby he does nothing for?

Trophy of Grace response to question..

I’m sorry to hear that your ex wants to go to hell. I’m sure he really has no idea what he is truly saying. That is obviously coming from the fact that he says that he doesn’t believe in God. The bible says that only a fool says in his heart that there is no God. (Psalm 14:1) In response to your first question, yes. He will not go to heaven if he continues to reject God. You are doing the right thing by praying for him. Even if you do not see a change right away you keep on praying.

Question #2 you asked, “How do I let go of all this anger and resentment?”

I know it’s hard, but you have to forgive him if you want to be free from this anger and resentment. Perhaps you feel like he doesn’t deserve it or he hasn’t earned your forgiveness. That’s where mercy comes in. If you are not merciful to others and willing to forgive then God will not forgive you either.

All of us need forgiveness. We are sinners. Everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. (Romans 3:23) All of us are guilty of breaking God’s laws. If God were to judge us by the 10 commandments we would be found guilty. (Exodus 20:3-17) The bible says that if we break one law then we are guilty of them all.

That’s why Jesus died on the cross for us, so that we can be saved from God’s wrath and anger. Jesus did no wrong, never sinned, but died a cruel death because he wanted to save us. Now we can have God’s forgiveness, even though we don’t deserve it.

Romans 10:9-10That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

In order for you to be merciful and forgive your ex you have to understand that God has been merciful to you and receive His forgiveness. If you will believe in Jesus, repent of your sins, and confess Jesus is Lord God will forgive you. He will cleanse you and renew you. He will help you heal from the hurt and pain that you have in your heart. You won’t want to have that bitterness and anger in your heart because you will find that it hinders your relationship with God and others.

When you give your life to Jesus He will restructure it and help you make wise decisions. He will guide you and lead you every day. This wisdom and direction is found in the bible. You have to read the bible daily and allow God’s Word to renew your thinking. That old thinking has to go.

Do you let him see the baby? That is his son no matter what, even if he doesn’t support him. I personally do not believe in denying anyone their child. If he wants to see the baby I think you should let him. He may not be the best father, but he is the father. Set up a schedule for him to see the baby, even if it’s supervised visits. God will honor your sacrifice.

I am praying for you.

We've Been Through So Much

A friend writes..Please keep my family in your prayers. My husband is overseas and we have been through so much since he has been in the navy and I pray everyday for our marriage to work. Thank u again for the add and the prayers.

Response..Of course we will be praying for you..

I really feel the need to encourage you about your marriage. Whatever you do DON'T GIVE UP! I know that it hasn't been easy for you since your husband has been in the Navy, but if you will you depend on God for your strength and wisdom you will be able to do this.

These times when he is away you have to draw closer to the Lord. Let Him and His Word fill your time and heart with love and peace. You will find your purpose and being in knowing God more. He will give you courage and faith to help your marriage grow and mature. You can do this through Christ Jesus!! (James 4:8,Philippians 4:6-9,13)

I am not going to tell you that marriage is easy. lol..because it is not. Marriage takes alot of work and commitment. I have been married for almost 6 1/2 years and I have been with my husband for almost 11 years. We have a total of 7 children. We have had MANY ups and downs. We could not have made it this far if it were not for our faith in our Savior Jesus. We have come to learn that marriage takes 3, the 2 of us and God. The truth is that without Him we can not do this. We don't want to try to do it without Him because when we have tried we utterly fail.

We need the power of God in our life. We need his grace and mercy to forgive one another when we fail each other as we so often do, and will. We need his Holy Spirit to give us extra patience and understanding when we've had a long day and each of us wants to be first on the mic to express ourselves and share our day.

We have learned that marriage is about sacrifice and serving one another, putting the other person's needs first. This can be hard sometimes, but we have learned and are still learning to rely on Jesus to help us through every obstacle that comes into our marriage. We have wanted to give up many times, but we always go back to the fact that we know with all of our hearts that God has us together for a reason. We don't want fail and give up on our family. We are determined to fight to stay together and serve God, each other, and our family.

God has you two together for a purpose also. It is no accident that you were given to him as his helpmate. You were made for one another. To love and encourage one another. To believe in one another. To serve one another.

Take this time and seek a deeper walk with God and you will see that you will learn, through the power of God in you, how to handle every situation that comes your way; even if that means just being still and letting God do His thing.

I've said alot..lol..I hope this helps. We love you dearly and are always praying for you. Keep us posted on how things go. God bless you sister...

Did I Do The Right Thing?

Question..Ok..i'll try to shorten up the story. Me and Chris dated twice before we got together the 3rd time. We just recently broke up like 3 days ago and dated a lil over 11 months. He would bring up my ex-boyfriends and try to get me not hanging out with my best friend. It took him 5 months to stop talking about one of my ex-boyfriends. During Christmas he was just an a**hole..to be blunt. There was a lot of good times but after 6 months I just didn't feel anything anymore. I didn't wanna throw our relationship away, I wanted to try to work things out. He was never abusive or anything, well sometimes it felt like it emotionally. After about 7 months I started acting like a complete b*t*h, again to be blunt, to get back at him and let him know how i felt. Then 3 days ago we got into a big argument and I finally said its over for good. I've broken up with him many times before but got back together the same day or the next. After I broke up with him he texted MY MOM at 1 in the MORNING trying to get me trouble. Now my question is..was that right of me? I feel I made the right decision and we both need it. I'm sorta needing someone, I don't know, telling me it was right. Ya know? Someone who doesn't know me or Chris. The last few nights have been rough cause thats when I just lay there and think. I haven't been able to fall asleep..and the only way I do go to sleep is if I make myself. I know its gonna be rough for the next few nights. Now all I'm asking is if you please just give me your honest opinion.
Best Wishes and God Bless!

Answer..I think that you are doing the right thing. It sounds like he had some trust issues. You don't need to be with someone who is so insecure. That is just going to cause you more problems. Be strong. The first couple of days are the hardest. You were together for awhile so your regular routine included him.

Take this time to focus on drawing closer to God. He is the one that wants to spend time with you. He has a wonderful plan for your life and has been knocking on the door of your heart for some time now. (Jeremiah 29:11)

He wants to guide you and lead you in your life. He longs to bless you above and beyond what you could ever imagine, if you will only trust Him.

So I encourage you to start seeking God for your life and I promise you that your life will be changed.

Sincerely,

He's Choosing Drugs Over Me Part 2

Continued from He's Choosing Durgs Over Me Part 1...

Response:
Thank you. But we always argue about it when we talk about it. I don't want to leave him I really don't. I have given him everything if you know what I mean!? i can't leave him. I don't have the strength to.

Answer:
It sounds like you are idolizing him. God should be your everything! You are clean and sober and he needs to respect that. You conquered your drug addiction and now you need to move on. As long as you have him, you will be constantly tempted to use again.

I remember leaving my husband because i didn't want my girls around drugs or the behavior. It pained me to hear them cry for their daddy. They were too young to understand. Don't let this happen to you.

You can do everything through Jesus Christ who strengthens you! You just have to believe and have faith. Pray to Him for the help you need and He'll be there. He is with you always.
Love,
Daughter of Destiny

Response:
Are you saying he isn't the right guy for me?

Answer:
What Im saying is this:
God has a plan for you. He's been mapping out your life since you were in your mother's womb. He knows the desires of your heart. If you seek Him first, He will bless you with the rest. God intended love to be patient, kind, understanding, and trusting. He created a man that serves and longs to please Him. This man will honor you and lift you up when your down. He will respect your opinion, feelings and beliefs. I'm telling you to pray about it. Really seek God out. Seek Him and He will revel Himself to you. You are not alone in this. Jesus is always knocking on the doors of our heart. Just let him in.

I Need Help With My Brother

Hey Girls,
I have a brother that goes through a lot and I try to talk to him about God but it seems like he doesn't want to listen. Sometimes he feels like he wants to commit suicide but he doesn't. I do care about him. What should I do? I think he's gotten therapy. I just wanna know should I continue to talk to him about God and pray for him? He's not on drugs he's only 15. Thanks for your answer..

Response..
For a lot of people, its easier to share our faith with total strangers than someone we know and respect. An easy way to do it is to speak about your own testimony. Rom. 14:12
Share with your brother an example of how God helped you through a situation and because of Him you are freed from that.

Sometimes they don’t receive that message and continue to turn from what your telling them. Know that through you the Holy Spirit speaks and pulls the strings of their heart. Jesus stands at the door knocking always. Revelation 3:20

Continue to pray for them. Our God is a faithful God and always knows the desires of our hearts. He will come through. There are 640 recorded prayers in the bible and 450 answered ones! Remember that prayer has no limits or boundaries. God is always listening. Psalms 65:5

As far as hurting himself, he might be in a situation that he feels helpless in. This may be the only relief that he may think will help. Or the situation may seem impossible for him to get out of. I’m sure he doesn’t want to die as much as he wants to escape what is really going on. At that moment dying may be his only way out. This is all the more reason to continue to pray and continue to talk to him about the love God has for Him.

I’m going to search for some sites that will help you with your brother and help him with his suicide threats. We will be praying for you as always!
