Girls Just Want To Have Fun

Anonymous replies to posting 'What Does The Bible Say About Partying & Clubbing?'

I get your point but at the same time i dont understand what is wrong with hanging out with your girls friends and dancing with eachother (nothing sexual) but its not like we par-take in this whole drinking and getting drunk dancing dirty stuff...i mean not everyone is the same and do the same things when we go out we just like to have fun..listen to music...dance and enjoy eachother company...my struggle or ne one else's struggle are not the same struggle you had with the clubs and lounges...

There is nothing wrong with hanging out with your friends and dancing, but what are you dancing to? What are you truly celebrating? The lyrics in most of the club music is not edifying or encouraging. There is no life or true love in the music. It is ok to be young and want to have fun but don’t let the excitement of your youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor Him in your youth before you grow too old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

If you are a child of God then you are a NEW CREATION this means that the old has gone and the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Before salvation we were in the world and lead by our sinful desires, but now that we are children of God we are to be lead by the Spirit of God. We are to live as children of light producing what is good and right and true. We are to carefully determine what pleases the Lord and not make excuses for sin and ungodly behavior. We are not to take part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead we are to expose them. (Ephesians 5:10-11)

Clubs and bars are not places for those who love and serve the Lord to hang out. Children of light have no business hanging out in places of darkness as a way of escape or release. We can sing, dance, and have fun but we are not to be conformed to the world’s way of doing this. Instead, we are to be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among ourselves, and making music to the Lord in our hearts. (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)

I love dancing. I used to do the club season too just like Daughter of Destiny. However, the more I spent time with the Lord in His Word and in prayer the more I realized that I did not really belong to that atmosphere any more. The desire for the party life was not me any more, it was the old me.

I haven’t stopped dancing though. In fact I spent this whole weekend singing, dancing, and worshipping the Lord. It was AWESOME!! Friday night our church had a night of worship, Saturday night we went to a free Christian Concert, and Sunday’s service had an awesome praise and worship time as usual. So I partied the whole weekend with others who love and fear the Lord too. It was great!! I feel refreshed and renewed. I don’t remember ever feeling like that after a night of clubbing.

This is something that you have to take to the Lord. We have shown you several scriptures that address this topic and how we are called to live as children of the Most High God. All Scripture was inspired of God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) However, it us up to each of us to choose to accept the Truth or deny it so that we can continue to do what is pleasing to us, instead of what pleases our Savior. We will be praying for you sister..May our Lord touch your heart and may you overflow with love for Christ Jesus.

Sincerely,
