My God Won't Do Such A Thing

Anonymous Writes: I love your website and God bless you women for all that you do. I was taken back a little by the homosexuality questions. God does not make mistakes, therefore if we are created in the image of Him and if one chooses to like one of the same sex, how can He turn his back on them? The all-loving God I know won't do such a thing, in my opinion. That's what makes me question certain things to like if someone lived a PERFECT life doing good and so forth and unfortunately was born in another region where God was known by a different name or was not even taught therefore the person never knew Him but since they never acknowledged Him, they are going to be sent to Hell? That does not make sense to me. Can you clarify these questions I have? Thanks!

Response: Thank you so much for checking out our site and for your words of encouragement. We really appreciate it. :)

Homosexuality has always been a touchy subject, especially in biblical conversation (such as this). You are right, God does not make mistakes, He is perfect in every sense of the word and He did create us as an image of Him. However our CHOICES don’t always reflect His image or word. The error of our choices, human error, that so many try to pass as God’s will. God’s words are spoken to us, through the bible, and He commands His children obey them, just as parents ask their child to obey their rules. In the aspect of homosexuality:

According to 1 Corinthians 6:9-11:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

God does not turn His back on His children. In fact, it is the opposite… we turn our backs to the Lord. It is the practice of homosexuality itself that is not accepted by God, not the people. They can be forgiven and their lives can be transformed.

To answer your 2nd question… no one has or can live a perfect life except for Jesus. Somewhere in our thoughts/actions, we fail to reach perfection… “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Whether taught about God or not, everyone has heard of the gospel in one way, shape or form. He’s revealed Himself to us in our skies, animals, His word in the bible, amongst many other ways. Even if you haven’t acknowledged Him as Lord and Savior, you cannot deny His creations.

Job 12:7-9
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?

We look at nature and see how supernatural it really is. Clearly, it’s of something beyond our doing.

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

When Judgment Day comes we will be judged only according to what we know. For our God is merciful, He will not hold us accountable for something we truly were not knowledgeable of.

Even if someone is not familiar with Him, our conscience will lead us to right or wrong. So, if someone doesn’t know about God per say, between their conscience, their knowledge of right and wrong, and their acknowledgement of natural creations, he/she are without excuse and can be held accountable when the day comes.

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." Romans 1:20
