(Continued from How Can I Tell My Parents About My Boyfriend?)
Girl’s Reply: thanx for the advice but i dont if u understand..i like him alot i think i might even love him and i dont DO NOT want to break his heart and i no he feels the same.its not like my grades r slippping im just as focused on school as i waz when i didnt have a boyfriend.ok ill admite that my conshents is bother me about it and i hate keepng stuff from me parents because it always comes out ugly.how do i NOT break the boys heart and tell my parents its impossible =[ =[
Response: Why would you prefer to break your parents’ hearts as opposed to his? Knowing that they want the best for you, why do that to them? I know when I was younger I swore my parents didn’t understand what I was going through or what I wanted, especially if I liked a boy. But it wasn’t that at all… it’s that they’ve been there. They had the same questions and confusions when they were younger. And even if it seems like they don’t understand, they really do. And they’re speaking to you out of experience.
I know it sucks sometimes but you should really respect your mom & dad’s word. You’ll see a few days, weeks, or even years from now that they gave you good advice. They love you with all their hearts… they wouldn’t allow you to do anything that’s damaging to you.
Ephesians 6
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise—"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
Colossians 3:20
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
I hope you take the time and really think this through.
Lovingly,
Saved By Faith
