How Can I Tell My Parents About My Boyfriend?

Answer: I think there are two topics that should be covered with your question… one being the relationship and the second being the deception with your parents.

Relationships should not be taken lightly and require a lot of the people involved. For this reason, I believe dating should wait until you’re older, more mature. There are so many situations that come up by being in a relationship and waiting until you are more seasoned in life, and in the word of God, will help you handle them better. Give yourself time to grow physically, mentally and spiritually. Allow God to work in your life and in God’s time, He will bring you a relationship that will be undeniable to anyone.

Your parents are well aware of what goes into a relationship and how important it is to mature before getting into one. They also understand the importance of focusing on school and preparing for a career. But most importantly, communication with your parents is very important. Having parents that love you and are by you is such a great gift. And understanding that they have your best interests at heart is something you should realize and respect. Even though you don’t necessarily agree with them, you should honor and respect your parents’ wishes. Trust in the Lord and pray for His help in obeying your parents.
