Well thank you very much for your encouraging words. Glory be to God who has gifted and given us the courage to step out and serve you ladies through WeUsed2bu ministries. It is an honor and privilege to all of us to serve you. We love you all so much and want to help you in your walk with the Lord. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life. Sincerely…

I forwarded your question to Beloved by Him for her suggestions because she went to college for journalism and I knew that she would have good advice. So she says..

Hey--what a sweet girl. My encouragement to her would be to think about studying journalism/communications as well as English and possibly education. I would guess that one of the best places to get published would be a Christian magazine. She could contact a few and see what their publishing guidelines are. A few things you might want to stress to her are that it can be difficult to get a print job without a good education, so she needs to get a good degree. She may want to consider a Christian college, because I would think they have contacts with some of the Christian publishers out there. Also, because of the economy, journalism is becoming a tougher field, so she should pray about what else the Lord may want her to do in addition to her writing. If she is creative, then maybe she can think about becoming a teacher and fostering those talents in her students. That's not to say that she shouldn't be a writer. There are volunteer/freelance opportunities that will allow her to get published, but not paid. She could approach her local church (if they have a newsletter--or maybe she could start one) or community newspaper and ask if they use volunteer writers. There will also probably be internship opportunities for her in college. Long story short, if God gave her those talents, then He will provide opportunities for her to glorify Him with them.

Amen to her suggestions and especially that last sentence. Very good advice..

I would also suggest blogging. You can go to Blogger.com and start your own blog for free. Then you can share your literature with the world. You would be surprised what our Lord can do when you step out and faith and allow Him to use you. The possibilities are endless.

Pray and fast about the direction you are seeking for college and how the Lord would like you to start using this gift. He will give you clear direction. The gifts that He has given are to glorify Him so He will show you how to use them properly and where to start. All you need is a willingness to be used by Him and offer your gifts to His service and you will the favor of God on your life. He will begin to open doors and take you right where you need to be. So trust Him..

Sincerely,

Here are some Scriptures to meditate on:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

"Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight." Exodus 33:13

"Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it,'
Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left." Isaiah 30:21

"The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9

"Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You." Psalm 143:8
