Anonymous Asks..My ex-boyfriend wants to get back with me, but a couple of friends and siblings don't like him AT ALL!! What do I do? I kind of do want to get back with him, but I don't want to cause more drama for him.
Anwer..The first thing I would suggest that you do is pray about it. Ask God to help you make the right decision. You don’t want to be with someone that God has not intended you to be with. God is an all knowing God. He sees the future and knows what’s best for us. That’s why it is always best to ask for God’s will to be done in our lives rather than our own. Remember that sometimes God’s will doesn’t fit with our own ideas or the way we would handle things, but we have to trust Him anyways because He is on our side. Sit and evaluate the situation for your self. Why doesn’t your family like him? Our families usually do not want to see us get hurt. If this young man has hurt you in the past they may just be afraid that he may do it again. I don’t the know situation, but I know my family and how protective we are of each other. Think about what lead up to your break up. Is the relationship really repairable or is it time to just forgive and move on? Sometimes certain people are only meant to be in our lives for a season.
My final suggestion is to take some time to yourself. You don’t need to be anxious to make this decision. A scripture that comes to mind that I think about often is Philippians 4:6-7 which says: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
You will see that if you will pray about it God will help you make the right decision and then He will give you peace about it. I will be praying for God to give you wisdom and courage to make the right decision.
